Do you understand that Health Care Reform affects each one of us?

Yes ... the law was passed in 2010, and
Yes….the law takes place January 1, 2014.

The Individual Mandate:

  • No more pre-existing conditions exclusions – Everyone gets insurance

Wow! So now you have three choices:

  1. Buy health insurance on your own
  2. Enroll thru your employer if you are eligible

Health Care Reform – OBAMA Care

September 26th, 2013 by Marie DeWolf

The law was passed in 2010 and now it will become law on January 1, 2014 - As of January 1, 2014 there is an INDIVIDUAL MANDATE – which means that everyone has to enroll in a health insurance plan.

The new law, will allow individuals to go to the Health Care Marketplace. The Marketplace is designed to help you find health insurance that meets your needs and fits your budget. The Marketplace offers “one-stop shopping” to find and compare private health insurance options. You may also be eligible for a new kind of tax credit that lowers your monthly premium right away. Open enrollment for health insurance coverage through the Marketplace begins in October 2013 for coverage starting as early as January 1, 2014.

You may qualify to save money and lower your monthly premium, but only if your employer does not offer coverage, or offers coverage that doesn’t meet certain standards. The savings on your premium that you’re eligible for depends on your household income.
